Surgical Management Changed after Detection of an Unsuspected Cervical Spine Instability
Previous plain x-rays and recumbent MRI scans showed generalized degenerative changes and an anterolisthesis at C3/4 in this patient with lower limb weakness. The Upright Seated scans revealed an unstable spondylolisthesis at C6/7. The surgeon stated that the diagnosis and appropriate treatment would not have been possible without the dynamic scan. The surgical management was changed from decompressive surgery to a fusion of the spine at C6/7.
